FashionBeans x Burton - Blogger Choice: SS13

Lyle and Scott Digital Fashion Internship  Working directly under the e-commerce team, the Lyle and Scott digital fashion internship provides the skills for a creative, strategic, innovative and commercial role.  During my time with Lyle and Scott I gained valuable insight into commercial content creation, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, G+ etc), SEO (search engine optimisation), PPC (pay per click), web analytics and affiliate marketing.  The digital fashion internship highlighted the more technical aspects that pull creativity into a commercial, business savvy context.

June 2012 saw the launch of a brand new menswear initiative, London Collections: MEN. Having outgrown their presence in female-led fashion weeks, LC:M established the first male platform of its kind in the UK.

Senior Marketing Coordinator for TOPMAN, Emma Galpin, contacted me to request I attend the brand’s inaugural showing and sit with front row attendants to gauge the response to the SS13 collection. 

During the show I sat with key industry figures, frequently reporting back stage to senior members of the TOPMAN team before single-handedly conducting interviews with the likes of David Gandy, Reggie Yates, Nick Grimshaw and Darren Kennedy.

Interview with Troy Munns, Head of Menswear at My-Wardrobe.com As part of an ongoing partnership with My-Wardrobe.com, the idea to profile the brand’s head of menswear was proposed to the FashionBeans editorial team. Topman Fragrance Launch  Invited by Topman’s senior press officer, Gemma Boner, I attended the launch party for their brand new fragrances 16 & 27. Held at the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts) the night included exclusive DJ sets, complimentary canapes, drinks and even scented key notes providing attendees with a real smell for the ingredients within each eau de parfum.  Both fragrances are released on the 22nd September in Topman’s flagship Oxford Circus store and Selfridges, then soon after in select UK stores, including Boots.
